Nezu and Sendagi’s backstreets burst with flea markets, food stalls, music, and parades.
What happens?
The Shitamachi Matsuri is a traditional festival in the Nezu and Sendagi neighborhoods.
The main festival venue will be inside the sprawling grounds of Nezu Shrine. Famous for its striking red torii, there will be flea markets, children’s games, stage performances, and food stalls fill the precincts.
Around town, catch everything from koto and taiko drum performances to rickshaw rides, street picnics, and hands-on workshops. Shop for crafts and snacks, join a stamp rally, or try old-fashioned festival games like ring toss and target shooting.
