The Yanaka Festival is a quaint community festival that takes places at venues throughout the neighborhood of Yanaka.
What happens?
The festival includes dance and music performances, food stalls, festival games, and appearances from mascots like Taito-kun and Yanaka Koinyan.
In past years hula was performed as part of the festival at the scenic Yanaka Cemetery. So if you’ve ever wondered what that’s like, this could be your chance to find out.
How to get there
The main venue is Hatsune no Mori (disaster prevention plaza).
Other venues include the Former Yoshidaya Liquor Store, Yanaka Five-Story Pagoda Site Children’s Plaza, and Yanaka Elementary School (Saturday, 11th only).
