Tokyo Creative Salon 2025

Tokyo Creative Salon is Japan’s largest fashion and design festival.

What happens?

The event has two main aims: to bring creative people together and make Tokyo one of the world’s leading creative cities.

To achieve these aims, Tokyo Creative Salon will be hosting various fashion and design-related events. Spanning ten iconic areas -– Marunouchi, Nihonbashi, Ginza, Yurakucho, Akasaka, Shibuya, Harajuku, Haneda, Roppongi, and Shinjuku -– the festival’s 2025 theme is “QUEST | Let’s Explore.” There will also be events at Harakado.

The theme for 2025 is “QUEST – Exploring Japan’s Creativity’. Through this theme, Tokyo Creative Salon aims to showcase local crafts that are attracting attention globally. It also seeks to harness the power of technology and unlock new forms of creativity and beauty within Japan’s creative space.

There will be around 100 artists and 1.5 million visitors.

Schedule 2025

Here are some highlights to look forward to:

  • Domestic production area x young designer project (March 13 to 23) at Harakado: Japanese and Italian designers teamed up to learn about Japan’s famous textiles, wool from Bishu (Aichi) and denim from Fukuyama (Hiroshima). Inspired by traditional techniques, they created unique clothing and bags using locally made fabrics.
  • URAHARA Fes in Harajuku: Uraharajuku (short for Ura-Harajuku, meaning “backstreets of Harajuku”) is known its underground street fashion and subcultures. Emerging in the 1990s, it became the epicenter of Japan’s streetwear movement. This festival aims to revive Ura-Harajuku.
  • Life in Naturescene (March 12 to March 18, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) in Shinjuku: A showcase of furniture and clohes made of natural materials.
  • House in Noto (March 13 to 23) in Roppongi: Ishikawa’s Noto region lost many of its traditional homes following the devastating earthquake in 2024. Noto Fukko Lab salvages materials and antiques from these demolished spaces. Designer Keita Suzuki transformed these recovered pieces into works of art, which can be viewed at this exhibiion and purchased.
  • Live Stock Market (March 15 to 23, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) in Marunouchi: A marketplace for unused, old stock, reinvented by stylist Hiroshi Ozawa.
  • Koinobori now! (March 13 to March 30) in Nihonbashi: Interactive workshops and an installation of koinobori (Japanese carp-shaped streamers) at Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower Atrium.
  • GINZA QUEST in Ginza: Using your smartphone and a map, explore the district and uncover hidden riddles. Solve them all for a chance to win a special prize
  • CROSS GROOVE (March 20, from 4 to 4:55 p.m.) in Yurakucho: A dance performance blending traditional and contemporary styles at Yurakucho Marion Center Mall Cross Runway.
  • Sitting in the Sky (March 13 to March 20, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) at Haneda Airport: An installation at Haneda Airport Terminal 1, 2F Marketplace, offering a serene space.
