Be guided through the Tanabata Festival, also known as the Star Festival, in downtown Asakusa and join in the festivities.
What to expect
Write your wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku — staff will be there to help you if you want to practice writing in Japanese — and stroll through the streets of Asakusa that will be strewn with colorful decorations. In true Japanese matsuri style, there will be plenty of food stalls bursting with treats, so make sure to bring some extra cash.
Entry and tickets
Entry on the day is ¥2,000 in cash or by PayPay. Remember to register before you go using this Google Form. Members of the WeLearn Community (paid subscription) get to join for free and can sign up here.
How to get there
Everyone will meet at the WeLearn Community 80’s Café at 1:30 p.m. before walking to the festival.
In case of rain, there will be a board game event at the meeting venue instead.
