In the proud tradition of Japanese art events with very long and complicated names comes this “art illumination” event at the very fancy Gajoen in Meguro.
The exhibition takes place in the Gajoen No. 3 building, which features the “hyakudan kaidan”, or 100-step staircase. The staircase (which actually has 99 steps) was constructed in 1935 and has been designated a Tangible Cultural Property by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
With the dearth of events this summer, this event is almost certain to be very popular—even with the relatively high price for admission.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
