The Enoshima Illuminations are so beautiful that they’re also called The Jewels of Shonan.
What to expect
Every winter, the entire island of Enoshima comes alive with dazzling patterns of illuminations. The main attraction is the Samuel Cocking Garden, which includes the gently glowing trees of Hoseki Forest. It is also home to Enoshima’s Sea Candle, a lighthouse that shines even more brightly with braids of color radiating from it.
But you’ll see lights no matter where you are on the island — even the caves will have floor-to-ceiling illuminations, guiding you through the wonderous rock formations.
