See the new year bright and early with around 500 fireworks at the Yokosuka Countdown. One last festival for 2025, before 2026 brings a new year and new you.
What happens?
Like all big holidays in Japan, nothing is complete without all the festival trimmings. There will be food stalls to stop at for your festival faves and stage events. As the night moves on, the ships in the harbor will light up with unique New Year illuminations before a midnight countdown complete with a fireworks display and ships whistling.

The ships and the Yokosuka Regional Headquarters Building will light up starting at 9 p.m.
How to get there
The Yokosuka Countdown will be held at Verny Park. The closest station is Yokosuka Station on the JR Yokosuka Line, followed by a quick 2-minute walk over to the park.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
