Located conveniently between Ueno and Asakusa stations, Kotobuki-yu offers a unique experience with its rustic exterior charm, reminiscent of decades past.

What to expect:

Upon approaching, visitors are treated to stunning views of Tokyo Skytree. Inside, this foreigner-friendly sento features what is considered one of Japan’s best Mount Fuji paintings. The facility is well-equipped with English signs and ticket machines, and the staff are always ready to assist. The amenities are extensive, including face lotion, face “milk,” hair tonic, gel, shaving cream, and aftershave, making it a welcoming spot for both locals and travelers.

Kotoboki-yu offers a spacious bathing experience with five baths, including three open-air rotenburo. After cleansing with the provided shampoo and soap, you can unwind in the indoor 42-degree medicated bath or relax in the massage jet bath to ease sore muscles. A sauna is also available for an additional fee.
