Kibune Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Manazuru in Kanagawa Prefecture.

What to expect

Kibune Shrine overlooks Manazuru Port and acts as the town’s guardian. Said to have been founded in 889, the shrine sits atop 108 steps and is known for its spiritual connection to maritime safety, prosperity, and blessings for love in relationships. Kibune Shrine is also the epicenter of the Manazuru Kibune Festival, an annual event that is designated as an intangible cultural property and one of the country’s three major boating festivals.

How to get there

Kibune Shrine is about 10 minutes by bus from JR Manazuru Station (Miyamae bus stop), or about 20 minutes by car from Ishibashi Interchange. However, limited parking is available nearby.
