Shinagawa Historical Museum is dedicated to the history of the entire ward of Shinagawa.

The museum features displays on Shinagawa’s history as the last lodging station on the old Tokaido road before entering Edo (now Tokyo).

There are also prehistoric artifacts from the nearby middens of the Omori Shell Mounds, the first archaelogical excavation in Japan.
