Kyourakutei is was a one Michelin-star soba and tempura restaurant located in Kagurazaka (even though they don’t have a Michelin star any more, they’re still highly regarded).

The menu starts from 900 yen, but that’s just for plain old soba noodles. The soba noodles are great, but you’d be missing the point if you didn’t add some tempura as well.

The ten-zaru set (cold soba and a selection of seasonal tempura goodies) at ¥2,400 offers about 6 different pieces of fresh, crisp tempura with a mix of seafood and vegetables.

The store opens at 11:30am for lunch and there is always a queue. If you turn up around 11:15 you will be amongst the first in line.
