CWAJ Presents: A Touch of Love from Shakespeare The College Women’s Association of Japan is hosting a lecture titled: A Touch of Love from Shakespeare—perfectly timed just ahead of Valentine's Day. The lecture is presented by Shakespearean expert (and NHK presenter) Stuart Varnam-Atkin. Craft Beer & Comedy Good food, great beer and the best of Tokyo’s English stand-up comedy scene. It’s the perfect way to let loose after a long week. Traditional Japanese Music & Dance Show Ryugenji Temple will be host to a long-running traditional Japanese music concert showcasing a range of instruments and singers—along with a Kabuki dance show. Improv Comedy in English & Japanese Enjoy a night of chuckles at this bilingual improv show put on by the Pirates of Tokyo Bay comedy group. Miura-kaigan Cherry Blossom Festival Your chance to catch early-blooming cherry blossoms. Over 1000 Kawazu cherry trees line the path from Miura-kaigan Station to Komatsukeike Park. Matsuda Cherry Blossom Festival The 360 cherry trees on south side of Mt. Matsuda bloom earlier than almost anywhere else near Tokyo. Plus there are views of Mt. Fuji—springtime perfection! Setagaya Plum Blossom Festival This festival takes place at Hanegi Park, which has around 650 plum blossom trees. On weekends the park hosts vendors selling plum-themed food. Bunkyo Plum Blossom Festival Another plum blossom festival with extracurriculars like shamisen-playing, traditional dance, tea, other Japanese cultural events, and, best of all, nighttime illuminations. Last chance for illuminations As the winter season comes to an end, so do the illumination events around the city. They're great spots for Valentine's Day date—so make the most of the remaining run times.
