Design Touch 2020

11:00am – 9:00pm
Free

Now in its 13th year, Design Touch is an innovative art event held in and around Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi. This year’s theme is Fusion, with a focus on exploring art and ideas through the five senses.

One of the highlights of 2019 will be the Color Canyon, a visual and dynamic installation by creator ‘Spread’ which aims to immerse visitors in color scenery. Up to 1km of mesh will be used to cover the lawns of the Midtown Garden to create a terrain of colour and nature, changing expressions from day to night. Spread are a creative unit formed by Haruna Yamada and Hirokazu Kobayashi, who create ‘spreads’ combining colours, time, history, creatures, things, the environment and memory.

The winner of the Good Design Award, Naoto Fukasawa and Hisai Igarashi’s Play Design Lab will be available for an unusual playground experience. A forest school will also be set up, with classes and talks held beneath the trees – applications for spaces will be available from early September.
