Featuring acrobatics and athleticism, watching Hashigo Nori (ladder acrobatics) at Ikegami Honmonji Temple is a unique event to kick off the new year.
What to expect
Hashigo Nori takes place during the temple’s prayer ceremonies on Japan’s Coming of Age holiday (the second Monday of January). On top (no pun intended) of the traditional dances and prayers, six performers show off their stuff with a ladder acrobatics display, including leaping and cartwheeling in the air.
Visitors will also be able to try the stunts (on a mini-ladder!) and take photos with the performers.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
