Bursts of red, orange, and yellow leaves highlight Japan’s autumn. But add in some illumination to really see the fall trees glow.
At the Kamakura Hasedera Temple Autumn Illuminations, experience the beauty of the season.
What to expect
From sunset each day, the temple’s lights will illuminate the canopy of autumn leaves. Wander through the traditional structures, around koi ponds, and under the boughs. The event has no set start time, with the illuminations starting at ‘sunset.’
Hasedera is one of the most visited temples in Kamakura and is also known for its blanket of hydrangeas in early summer.
Tickets
Entry to the temple is ¥400 for adults and ¥300 for children.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
