The Mori Art Museum opened in 2003, with the goal of showcasing the best of contemporary art and architecture.

Located on the 52nd and 53rd floors of the Mori Tower in Roppongi, it hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout the year. The museum also holds learning experiences and film screenings.

Permanent exhibitions

There is no permanent collection; the space is used entirely for visiting exhibits from across Japan and the world, with a focus on Asian artists.

Suggested Activity
Experience the Traditional Art of Kintsugi
Looking for something different? Try a kintsugi class in Tokyo. Kintsugi is the art of repairing old pottery with gold. In this one-hour workshop, you'll learn the delicate art of gold repair, and create your own unique souvenir to take home. You'll even dress in samue, the traditional outfit of craftsmen.

Special exhibitions

Mori Art Museum only hosts special exhibitions, and usually only one at a time. Exhibitions tend to last for four to six months so there’s plenty of time to visit.

Museum facilities

There are two museum shops — one inside the museum and the other on the 3rd floor of Roppongi Hills. There’s also an online shop with a slightly smaller range of products. You’ll also find a restaurant/café on the 52nd floor.

How to buy tickets to the Mori Art Museum

Tickets can be bought in person or online. Ticket prices are cheaper on weekdays, and cheaper again if you buy them online. There are also discounts for students (including university students), children, and seniors. The Grutto Pass gets you discounted entry, and the Tokyo Pass gets you free entry.

How to get to Mori Art Museum

The museum is a 5-minute walk from Roppongi Station and about a 10-minute walk from Azabujuban Station.
