Snack Bar Beni, the longest-running snack bar in Willow Alley, has been a cornerstone of the area’s nightlife culture for about 45 years. The establishment has gained recognition, featuring multiple times on NHK. Kumiko-san, the current “mama” of the bar, and her mother were drawn to Nishiogi’s charm after relocating from Aizu. They were attracted to the area’s spiritual energy, believing it to be a power spot due to a meteorite that supposedly landed there millions of years ago.
Under Kumiko’s management, the small snack bar has expanded into three distinct venues. Patrons can choose between the relaxed atmosphere of Bar Akai, the lively karaoke energy of Pub Kurenai, or the opportunity to sing and converse with Mama Kumiko herself at Snack Beni.
