Chosen as the Weightlifting venue for the 2020 Olympics, the International Forum is right next door to Tokyo Station.
Designed as a multi-purpose exhibition center in central Tokyo, the forum has hosted a wide range of events from an Ariande Grande tour to the World Congress of Architects. The building was designed by Rafael Vinoly and completed in 1996 with a shape reminiscent of an elegant boat made of glass and steel. From the first floor, views of the Imperial Palace are combined with a bronze sculpture of Ota Dokan – a samurai warrior-poet turned Buddhist Monk.
