Nestled in a tranquil residential area, Zenpukuji Park is accessible via a 20-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station or a brief bus ride from the station’s north side.
What to expect:
The park is divided into two sections: the Upper Pond and the Lower Pond, offering expansive grassy areas ideal for picnics or napping during the day.
The Upper Pond features rowboat and pedal boat rentals, while both sections of the park include multiple small playgrounds. A small shrine dedicated to Benzaiten, the god of wealth, water, music, and eloquence, is also located within the park.
Each year, the community hosts the “Trolls in the Park” event, transforming Zenpukuji into a vibrant public art gallery. This event includes live music and performances, making it a delightful experience for families.
Throughout the seasons, Zenpukuji Park is adorned with cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant autumn leaves, providing a serene escape from urban life regardless of the time of year you visit.
