The Dodo House is a craft beer and wine bar located in a Shimomeguro side street—just on the other side of the Meguro River when descending the hill from Meguro Station.

Although prices were reportedly quite reasonable, they now seem to be in a similar price range to most other craft beer bars in Tokyo. A 250ml glass of beer from one of their 7 taps will set you back from ¥750 to ¥880 while a 475ml “pint” goes for ¥1,200 to ¥1,400. Wine is from ¥600 per glass or ¥3,700 per bottle.

With only 7 taps there isn’t a huge selection, but at the time of our visit, beers on tap included Aoi Brewing, Be Easy Brewing (from Aomori), August Beer, Coedo and Brewbase.

The food menu has lots of pub favorites including Ajillo for ¥980, buffalo chicken wings for ¥600, and Pizza Margherita for ¥1,050

Dodo has a relaxed, modern, industrial decor with really high ceilings for Tokyo. Suitable for meeting friends or a date but maybe not for large groups.

All prices include consumption tax, but there is a ¥300 per person seating charge.
