October The big names coming this spooky season: Foo Fighters October 7 and 10 – Saitama Super Arena (Saitama) and GLion Arena (Kobe) Foo Fighters will be hitting up Saitama and Osaka (more specifically Kobe) for their first run of Japanese headline shows in 17 years this October. With a new drummer in tow after the departure of Josh Freese in May, the tour comes off the back of one–off performances in Indonesia and Singapore, and marks somewhat of a comeback tour for the band in general. Parkway Drive October 15 Toyosu Pitt (Tokyo) Australian Metalcore outfit is doing a cheeky side show in Shibuya after their headline performance at Loud Park ‘25. The five-piece will be heading to Toyosu Pitt for a comparatively intimate performance playing hits from across their 20-year catalogue. Tickets Tickets for the show are plus one drink via Creativeman. All tickets are standing. Oasis October 25 and 26 – Tokyo Dome (Tokyo) In one of the most anticipated tours of 2025, Oasis is heading to Tokyo for two nights on October 25 and 26. "Will there be on-stage tension?" "Will they play Wonderwall?" "Is this whole tour just a massive cash grab?" The answer to these questions and more is (probably) a resounding "yes." P.S. Mariah Carey October 28—November 2 — GLion Arena (Kobe), K Arena (Yokohama) It looks like Christmas is coming early this year with a pre-December appearance from Mariah Carey. Emerging from her slumber, she’s taking the stage across three nights to celebrate the 20th anniversary of MIMI, the 25th anniversary of Daydream, and the 30th anniversary of her debut. Carey will perform one night in Kobe and two nights in Yokohama, and tickets are expected to sell out, so make your wish come true and jump on tickets quickly. Tickets Update: at the time of publishing, tickets for the Kobe show are sold out, but some tickets still remain for the Yokohama performances. Other concerts in Japan this October Who else is touring in October? October 13: Swedish Pop Carnival in Tokyo will bring The Cardigans, Cloudberry Jam, and Meja to Tokyo Garden Theater. October 27–29: Damiano David from Maneskin will perform in Tokyo and Osaka November Here's what's announced so far for November: Pixies November 2–5 – Gorilla Hall (Osaka) and Ex Theater Roppongi (Tokyo) With a recent lineup change and a new album under their belt, Pixies will play three shows in Japan in November. Since their 2004 reunion, the Boston quartet has been selling out tours all around the world, and with the release of their ninth studio album -- their first with new bassist Emma Richardson -- tickets for the upcoming Japan tour won't last long. Tickets Pixies will play one night in Osaka and two nights in Tokyo, and general sales for all shows started on February 1 via Creativeman. The Osaka venue is all standing (), and the Tokyo shows have standing tickets for and reserved seated tickets for . Travis Scott November 8 — Belluna Dome (Saitama) Travis Scott’s highly anticipated Circus Maximum tour will finally hit Japan this November. Since first kicking off in October 2023, the tour has hit almost 80 cities around the world and is currently set to wrap up in Tokyo after six legs and 84 performances. The stadium show is set to feature primarily tracks from the 2023 album Utopia, which made numerous big-name end-of-year lists and earned the artists Billboard and Grammy award nominations. Tickets Update: After a string of sold-out ticket releases, an additional run of tickets was announced on October 6. These additional GA tickets will be available via Live Nation/Ticket Pia from midday on Wednesday, October 8. Some Platinum and standing area tickets are also still available at the time of publishing. Se So Neon November 14 The Garden Hall (Tokyo) South Korean indie rock project Se So Neon will play an intimate show at Garden Hall in Ebisu this November. This will be the first Tokyo performance since becoming a solo project with Hwang So-yoon performing tracks off the debut album Now Tickets Tickets are plus one drink from Live Nation. bbno$ November 17 – Shibuya WWW X (Tokyo) bbno$ is heading to Tokyo for the first time. The tour, (perhaps helpfully for some) entitled “It's Pronounced Baby No Money” is in celebration of the artist’s upcoming self titled album which includes tracks such as it boy, check, two, and 1-800. Tickets Tickets are sold out at the time of publishing, but keep an eye out for additional allocations or official resales over at Live Nation. Opeth November 27 and 28 Ex Theater Roppongi (Tokyo) One for the prog rock fans, Sweden’s Opeth are playing two nights in Tokyo this winter. Their first visit to the country in six years, the shows are in support of their 14th studio album The Last Will and Testament, an album that sees the return of vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt’s signature death vocals, much to the joy of many long-time fans. The shows will also be the band’s first in the country with new drummer Waltteri Väyrynen, and will happen on back-to-back nights at Ex Theater in Roppongi. November 11 and 24: Swedish melodic death metal outfit The Halo Effect will perform their first-ever Japan shows in Osaka and Tokyo in support of their sophomore album. November 25: Mew will perform their final Japan shows in Osaka and Tokyo. December Here's what's in store for December: Beth Gibbons December 1—3 — Sumida Triphony Hall (Tokyo), Zepp Namba (Osaka) Following up on a moving performance at Fuji Rock last year, Beth Gibbons will undertake her first solo tour of Japan this December. The English singer, best known as the vocalist for Portishead, released her debut solo album in May 2024, earning a Mercury Prize Nomination. The show will take place across three intimate, seated performances, with two shows in Tokyo and one in Osaka. Tickets All shows are seated, with seats at the Tokyo shows ranging from to . The Osaka performance has two ticket categories, S seats for and SS seats for . Tix are available via Smash Japan. Katy Perry December 3 – Saitama Super Arena Katy Perry is heading back to Japan for her first tour stop in 8 years. The one-night-only show will take place at Saitama Super Arena on December 3 to promote her September 2024 release 143. According to promoters, fans can expect to hear crowd favorites as well as new remixes and previously unperformed tracks. Bright Eyes December 3 and 4 – Yogibo Meta Valley (Osaka), Ex Theater Roppongi (Tokyo) It’s already been a big year for early 00s indie and emo kids, and the fun continues with Bright Eyes heading our way in December. Since reuniting in 2020, the band has stayed fairly active, and now, with the release of their 11th studio album last year and a brand new EP in October, there’s plenty of new music to look forward to at their upcoming shows in Osaka and Tokyo. Tickets Tickets for the Osaka show are all standing and cost . Tokyo tickets are for standing and (for aging naughties kids), for seated tickets. Franz Ferdinand December 9—11 — Namba Hatch (Osaka), Garden Theater (Tokyo) With the release of their sixth studio album in January, Franz Ferdinand also announced a brief tour of Japan taking place in December. The performances will be their first in Japan in three years and their first in the country with new guitarist Dino Bardot and drummer Audrey Tait. In addition to tracks from the new album, The Human Fear, expect to hear classics like Take Me Out, which surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams earlier this year. Tickets Update: As of early October, the Osaka show is sold out but tickets are still available for the Tokyo show for . Black Country, New Road December 8—10 Bigcat (Osaka), Jammin’ (Nagoya) Ex Theater (Tokyo) Black Country, New Road will return to Japan this December with the release of their latest album Forever Howlong. The upcoming tour follows a memorable and emotionally charged performance at Fuji Rock’s White Stage in 2022 and their debut three-show tour in 2023. The new album, the follow-up to the highly acclaimed 2022 sophomore release, has already been universally praised for its distinctness and spontaneity. In early October, Ichiko Aoba and a duo consisting of betcover!!’s Yanase Jiro were announced as supports for this tour. Tool December 11–13 – K-Arena (Yokohama) and Glion Arena (Kobe) Prog giants Tool will entertain legions of Japan-based music nerds at two shows this December. With the long-standing promise of a sixth studio album lingering in the air for over three years now, it’s hard to say whether fans can expect new music, but that shouldn’t matter for Japanese fans who have been waiting patiently for a Tool show since 2013. Tickets Gold, SS, and S tickets are still available for the Tokyo show. All ticket classes are still available for the Kobe performance. Doja Cat December 12 – K-Arena (Yokohama) Doja Cat is set to Paint The Town Red this December with a show at Yokohama’s K-Arena. This will be her first headline show in Japan since 2019, and she’ll be performing hits off her September album Vie. On top of new tracks, you can expect to hear classics like Say So, Kiss Me More, and Streets. Tickets At the time of publishing, all ticket classes are still available via Live Nation. Other concerts in Japan this December Here are some more picks: December 1 and 3: Swedish EDM outfit Galantis will head to Namba Hatch in Osaka and Toyosu Pit in Tokyo. December 2 and 3: Soccer Mommy will play at Anima Osaka and Liquidroom Tokyo. December 11: American Dream Pop band TV Girl will play their first Japan show in Kanda Square Hall. January 2026 Some big names coming in January: Rockin’ On Sonic January 4 Makuhari Messe (Chiba) Rockin’ On Sonic delivers another big dose of nostalgia in Chiba this January. The festival will see performances from big-name legacy artists like Pet Shop Boys and Underworld, as well as buzz bands like Kneecap and Wolf Alice. More artists are set to be announced in the coming months. Tickets Tickets are for the whole day and available via the official Rockin’ On Sonic website. GMO Sonic January 17 and 18 – Makuhari Messe (Chiba) Not long after their rock fest, the Creative Man team will be backing things up at Makuhari Messe with their electronic gathering, GMO Fest. Heaps of big-name electronic artists will be heading to Chiba over two days for this installment, including Marshmallow, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Doma Dolla, and Steve Aoki. Tickets General and Platinum ticket categories are available as one- or two-day tickets. One-day GA tickets will set you back , and two-day GA tickets are . Platinum passes offer things like dedicated viewing areas and lounges, and cost and . Lady Gaga January 21–30 – Kyocera Dome (Osaka), Tokyo Dome Osaka and Tokyo will be treated to a run of shows from Lady Gaga in early 2026. The Mayhem Ball world tour will wrap up at the Tokyo Dome after over 6 months and 60 performances, and will mark Gaga’s first dome shows in the country. The performance, which premiered at Coachella in April, has been celebrated as groundbreaking and transformative, with Gaga promising a more intimate, theatrical experience than previous tours. Other concerts in Japan in January 2026 What else is there? January 1: Viagra Boys will bring their Infinite Anxiety tour to Tokyo at Shibuya’s Spotify O-East. January 21 and 22: British indie rock outfit Bar Italia head to Liquidroom in Tokyo and Shangri-La in Osaka for their Some Like It Hot tour . January 28: Osaka’s Namba Hatch will see a performance from British singer-songwriter Calum Scott. February 2026 Here’s a handful of some of the bigger names coming in February: Geese February 19 and 20 Space Odd One of 2025’s biggest buzz bands, Geese will make a long-awaited visit in February 2026. The New York quartet will play intimate back-to-back shows at Space Odd in Daikanyama over two nights in support of their new album Getting Killed. Dream Theater February 25–March 3 – Nippon Budokan (Tokyo), Ai Plaza Toyohashi (Aichi), Festival Hall (Osaka), Okayama Performing Arts Theater (Okayama) Get your fill of polyrhythms, sweep arpeggios, and 10-minute instrumental sections with Dream Theater in February and March. The shows, billed as “A Night With Dream Theater,” mark their first in Japan since drummer Mike Portnoy rejoined the band in 2025 after a long stint away. The shows are set to present fan favorites from across the band’s 40-year history, so buckle in and grab a drink. My Bloody Valentine February 3–9 – Zepp Namba and Namba Hatch(Osaka), Tokyo Garden Theater (Tokyo) Shoegaze fans got excited in March and April 2025 with a rare drop of show announcements from My Bloody Valentine. The brief run of shows includes their first appearances in Japan in many years, with dates in Osaka and Tokyo. The first shows sold out quickly, with second shows in each city being added. At the time of publishing, tickets are still available for the second Tokyo show on February 9. Mac DeMarco February 16–22 Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo It’s already a big 2026 for Japan-based indie fans, and Mac DeMarco is adding to that excitement. DeMarco will be touring in support of his latest album, Guitar, and tickets didn’t last long, with the first shows in Tokyo and Kyoto selling out immediately. The shows will take place over a week in Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Tokyo. Tickets At the time of publishing, Kyoto tickets are no longer available, and a second show is yet to be announced. Tickets are still available for the second Tokyo show and all other cities for . Wet Leg February 19 Gorilla Hall (Osaka) Since storming onto the global indie scene in 2021 with their single Chaise Longue, English indie rock outfit Wet Leg have only continued to dominate. Now, as a five-piece, they’re heading to Osaka with the release of their much-anticipated sophomore album Moisturizer. The band sold out three shows on their last visit, so tickets aren’t likely to last long for this one. Tickets Tickets for this show are currently available via Smash Japan for . February 4 and 5: British electronic duo Autechre head to Tokyo and Osaka, bringing their Pitch Black Live shows. Frequently asked questions Can I buy resale tickets if the show is sold out? We recommend only buying from official resellers. Some bigger ticketing companies, like ePlus and Ticket Pia, will generally announce official resale tickets if they become available. While unofficial resale sites often have tickets available, tour promoters and official ticket agencies typically have policies against them. Why does the ticket price say “1 drink”? Most shows in Japan, big or small, have a drink ticket policy. This additional cost (usually around ) guarantees bar revenue for the venue and helps to keep costs down for artists and promoters. Can I buy tickets from overseas? Larger events and ticketing agencies usually have a separate link or landing page for customers purchasing tickets from outside Japan, but this is not always the case. What time will the show finish? Gigs in Japan usually start and finish early. For most live shows, you can expect doors to open around 6 p.m. and the performance to begin around 7 p.m. This means that shows are usually finished before the last train, so attendees can make it home safely. What is the ticket lottery? You’ll see this for many big shows and festivals. Basically, lotteries are a way to prevent ticket scalping and website overload when shows go on sale. Allowing lottery entries over days or weeks gives fans enough time to enter the lottery comfortably and apply for a limited number of tickets. Most available tickets will generally get picked up during this period, but those who miss out still have a chance when general sales become available. Is Oasis coming to Japan? Yes!
