A wholesome community flower viewing event.
What to expect
While it might not exactly be a contender for the big spider lily festival in Saitama, it’s certainly a wholesome, low-key option.
This is an annual event held along a three-kilometer stretch of river in Fujisawa City, Chigasaki City, and Samukawa Town. While you’re there, you can grab some festival food and local produce from stalls set up along the river. The area also has landmarks like Ichinomiya Samukawa Shrine, Kajiwara Kagetoki’s Residence, and Utsumochi Shrine, and — on a clear day — you can even spot Mt. Fuji.
How to get there
There are three main locations along the three-kilometer area of the festival, Oozō, Endō, and Uchimodori, with the latter two being the most accessible via public transport.
For Endō, take the West Exit of Shōnandai Station and then get the bus bound for Keio University, get off at Keio University, and walk towards the Koidegawa River for 10 minutes.
For Uchimodori, take the North Exit of Tsujidō Station, get the bus bound for Ayase Gorge, get off at the Neshita bus stop, and walk for 12 minutes towards the river.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
