Tokyo Idol Festival is the world’s largest celebration of idol culture. Kicking off at the height of idol culture’s resurgence in 2010, it has since exploded in popularity, regularly attracting tens of thousands of die-hard attendees.
What to expect
This year’s 15th-anniversary event will once again see around 200 idol acts descend on the Odaiba and Aomi area. Stages will be dedicated to both established idol acts like i*Ris and AKB, showcasing up-and-coming idols from around the country, meet-and-greet opportunities, and heaps more. In celebration of the 15th anniversary, this year’s event will also see reunions from popular groups like Idoling!!!.
Tickets
A range of ticket categories is currently on sale, including a T-shirt and ticket bundle that provides access to an exclusive stage on each day of the event. Regular tickets are currently on sale for ¥9,800 for single-day tickets, or ¥26,500 for a 3-day pass.
How to get there
At the time of publishing, exact stages and locations are yet to be announced but the festival typically takes place throughout the Odaiba and Aomi areas. To get to there, from Tokyo Station, take the JR Yamanote Line to Shimbashi and then take the Yurikamome to Aomi or Tokyo Teleport stations.
From Shibuya or Shinjuku, you can take the JR Saikyo/Rinkai Line directly to Tokyo Teleport Station. The festival area is within walking distance of both Amoi and Tokyo Teleport stations.
