Ogikubo is a district of Suginami Ward, Tokyo located about 8km to the west of Shinjuku. Ogikubo Station is an express stop on the JR Chuo Line.
There is a relatively cheap Seiyu department store (owned by Walmart) in Ogikubo. North of the station is one of the major areas for ramen in Tokyo with many stores serving ‘Ogikubo Ramen’ – ramen made with a soup stock made of fish bones rather than the usual pork.
