More of an eating experience than a museum in the traditional sense, the Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum prefers the hands-on experience.

Aiming to teach people about ramen from across the country, you can step into the SHowa-era eatery and take your pic from the two floors of hand-picked restaurants. With selections including ramen from Hokkaido, Hakata and even abroad, there’s plenty to try, and half-sized bowls mean you can indulge in at least two or three options. The streets are impressive in their atmospheric recreation of the Showa streets and include cafes, toy shops and a bar. The museum aspect mainly consists of a small display of traditional cooking utensils and informative boards in the shop section, but experience is the best way to learn, right?
