It’s that time again. Summer is drawing to a close. And although that means nothing in terms of weather (since the temperature will remain in the high 20s/low 30s Celsius range well into September), it’s still a subconscious bummer that back-to-school has reared it’s ugly head and that the “official” designated months of the sunny season will soon be forgotten.  What better way to send off the dog days, though, than with a slew of cheapo events! Here are our top picks for this final festive weekend:

This & That Cafe – Art and Music Night (Aug. 28)

Get connected to the art scene by going to the 25th installment of This & That Cafe—an art and music event at SuperDeluxe showcasing tons of local talent through different styles and genres. Friday night’s show comprises a CD release party, local bands, visual artists and a live-painting duo. Entrance is only 700 yen and includes a drink.

34th Asakusa Samba Carnival (Aug. 29)

The insanely popular Asakusa Samba Carnival is back and will be dazzling the streets of Asakusa this Saturday starting at 1pm. Be sure to bring your best moves since you’ll most likely be inclined to join in and jive as you watch the stunning samba dancers parade by.
