Toyaji is a beloved Nishiogi eatery run by a passionate mother-daughter team. Inspired by their frequent visits to Korean restaurants in Shin Ōkubo, Nanami Yoshida dreamed of opening her own restaurant. Despite balancing a demanding office job and family responsibilities, she persevered and eventually transformed her vision into reality.

For over 17 years, Toyaji has been a haven for both solo diners and large groups, solidifying its reputation as a premier dining and drinking destination in Nishiogi. During the colder months, patrons indulge in comforting dishes like the rich sundubu-jjigae and savory pajeon, brimming with scallions and kimchi. As the weather warms, beer pairs perfectly with the delectable bossam and flavorful bulgogi.

Regardless of the season, the irresistible samgyeopsal, served sizzling on a hot stone, remains a consistent favorite among Toyaji’s regulars. With dishes priced between ¥500 and ¥1,500, Toyaji is both affordable and tasty.
