This & That Café – Art and Music Night (June 17): One of our favorite cheapo-approved events is back! This & That Café in Roppongi puts on a quality night of fun. There’s art, music, good drinks and good vibes—what’s not to enjoy?

Philippine Festival (June 18-19): This Philippine culture fest is taking over Hibiya Park this weekend with colorful costumes, dance performances, amazing food and more.

Shoichi Tsurukawa Art Exhibition (ongoing until June 25): Free art exhibition at Kinosho Kikaku Gallery. By using complex  techniques of dyeing and cotton wadding, Artist Shoichi Tsurukawa invites you to explore the deeper meaning behind his art.

Bunkyo Hydrangea Flower Festival (June 11-19): Although June is the rainy season, it still has plenty to offer nature-wise. Take, for instance, the stunning display of 10,000 hydrangea plants at Hakusan Shrine.

Iris Flower Festival (ongoing until June 20): If 10,000 hydrangea flowers don’t impress you, how about 14,000 lovely iris plants dispersed across the even lovelier Mizumoto Park? And don’t expect just nature to fulfill your weekend, there will be a variety of events including musical performances spanning the 20-day festival.

Portraits of Refugees in Japan (June 20-26): In honor of World Refuge Day, a photo exhibition put together by Japan Association for Refugees (JAR) in cooperation with photographer Naotaka Miyamoto explores refugees living in Japan with a series of 28 portraits. The portraits will be displayed in Omotesando Station.

Firefly nights (throughout June): This is one of the last weekends to attend a few different firefly festivals around Tokyo—including the ever-popular Fussa Firefly Festival, which has been running for over 50 years.
