Tokyo City Pop Fireworks

Watch fireworks while vibing to nostalgic J-pop tunes at the Tokyo City Pop Fireworks.

Clamp Exhibition

This limited-time exhibition champions the iconic work produced by Clamp, an all-female Japanese manga artist collective. Categorized into five main themes — Color, Love, Adventure, Magic, and Phrase — this exhibition will detail the history of the collective as well as display original manga manuscripts.

Narita Gion Festival

Narita Gion Festival is an important traditional matsuri (festival) taking place not too far from Narita Airport. But this one in Chiba Prefecture also has a long 300-year history and lasts for an impressive three days. Floats decorated with intricate carvings and a mikoshi (portable shrine) parade will take place around the area surrounding Narita Station.

Earth Garden Summer Festival

Earth Garden is an outdoor market and festival at Yoyogi Park with a focus on promoting an ecological lifestyle. Spend the day in the park where there will be market stalls selling organic/earth-friendly wares, various workshops, a children’s area, and live musical performances.

Arabian Festival

The Arabian Festival (or Arabian Fes as it is officially called) is coming to Yoyogi Park to celebrate the wide-ranging cultures, fashions, and foods of Arab countries. There will be belly dancing performances with prominent dancers taking to the stage. There will also be a “shisha competition”, presumably with different cafes competing for the title of best shisha.

Shitamachi Tanabata

Tanabata comes from the story of two star-crossed lovers meeting on the Milky Way every year. It is a time to write your wish on a strip of paper and tie it to some bamboo. Decorations will last a whole week, but there will be parades and performances on the main weekend of the festival.

Shonan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival

Hiratsuka’s Tanabata Star Festival is the biggest in the Kantō region, attracting around 1.7 million visitors over the three days of the festival. The colorful festivities will be centered around the shopping street on the north side of Hiratsuka Station.

Ocean Peoples Tokyo

Ocean Peoples is “an ocean festival for people who love the sea”. There will be good music, a market, and food as well. A number of famous Japanese artists will also be performing across the two days.
