Well, folks, the weekend’s here again, and with that comes an assortment of free events for the taking in Tokyo.

Kicking off the weekend is the Tokyo Toy Show, starting today (18th) and ending on Sun 21st. As Japan’s biggest toy trade show, it’s the perfect spot to take your kids for an afternoon, should you have any—but should you not, it’ll still be plenty of fun to explore and let your inner youth shine through.

On Saturday, make your way to Ueno area and visit the National Museum of Western Art, where the art is priceless but the admission is free. With the likelihood that it’ll rain or be overcast on the weekend, this is a great indoor alternative to summer fun.

If the rain does hold off, your last stop of the weekend should be at the Oedo Antique Market in Yurakucho (a.k.a. the biggest outdoor market in Japan), where you can peruse the stalls and pick up a trinket or two. The market will be open on Sunday from 9am-4pm.
