Shiodome

Although it used to be a crappy piece of railway land on the verge of Shinbashi, with massive redevelopment including the construction of a large number of enormous steel and glass office towers, it has managed to psychologically detach itself from it’s unsophisticated neighbour.

The must see attraction in Shiodome is the magnificent Hamarikyu Gardens. A large expanse of green watched over by the sky scraping sentinels next door. The benches around the tidal pond in the centre of the park are a great spot for a picnic.

Both NTV Plaza with its bizarre benches and the Ghibli Clock are also worth checking out.
