A Coffee Lover’s Guide to Quaint Cafes in Kiyosumi
Coffee lovers, meet Kiyosumi.
Kiyosumi is a neighborhood in Tokyo’s eastern Koto Ward that makes up part of an area what was once called (and is still commonly known as) Fukagawa.
The two main ways to access the area are from Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in the north or from Monzen-nakacho Station to the south.
The area is famous for the beautiful Kiyosumi Teien gardens and more recently as a hotbed of hip coffee roasters and cafes. Don’t expect to find streets lined with cafes though, the cafes and roasteries are spread far and wide, dotted among the residential apartment buildings and small workshops that characterize eastern Tokyo.
Coffee lovers, meet Kiyosumi.
