A Detective’s Journey to the End of the Night
Looking for a bit of unconventional fun? How about a mad dash through the streets of Tokyo as you evade pursuers and solve creative challenges along the way.
Fussa Firefly Festival
See one of nature’s most illuminating phenomenon in western Tokyo. Accompanying the fireflies will be food stalls and various traditional performances. A celebration of the Filipino community in Japan with food stalls, dance performances, art, music, a parade and more. Sit down for a screening of one or ten of over 250 short films from around the world. Tokyo celebrates the diversity of Africa with a showcase of food, music, art, fashion and culture. There are kid-friendly activities and the opportunity to meet representatives from 38 African countries. The festival showcases various aspects of popular media art in Japan, including entertainment, manga and animation. See creative works from over 70 countries. If you like flowers, don’t miss this chance to see 10,000+ hydrangeas in their early summer glory! Coinciding with the rainy season, this exhibition features an interactive installation centered around umbrellas. Visitors can admire the artwork on display, or even create umbrella art of their own! If you like your beer gardens with a sweet view, try the one atop Mt. Takao—the highest beer garden in Tokyo. Make sure you go hungry and thirsty though, it’s an all-you-can-drink deal (don’t worry, there’s more than beer) accompanied by an all-you-can-eat buffet.
