Sensoji (浅草寺：sensō-ji) is one of the most significant Buddhist temples in Tokyo. The Kaminari Mon (lightning gate), the long promenade to the temple (Nakamise Dori) and the temple itself is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Tokyo. There is no admission fee, but you can make a donation if you wish at the temple.
Also host to Sanja Matsuri each May, one of the “big three” traditonal festivals in Japan, a not-to-miss experience if you’re in Tokyo at the time.
